Default Deciding between 2 vehicles

Hi All,

I am currently debating which vehicle I should choose from the 2 below. Appreciate your insight and opinion.

1. GS 460 with about 100k
- The good: very competitive price out the door
- The bad: was in an accident but I had an inspection completed indicating that everything was fixed and repaired to normal. Also, the dealer was a pain to deal with and seems to me not as trust worthy or I feel that they dont have their act together

2. 2006 GS 430 with 115k+ miles
- The good: great condition with timing belt and water pump completed, 1 owner, clean carfax, great to work with seller, about $2k less expensive than the GS 460
- The bad: more miles, less powerful, and older vehicle when compared to the GS 460

Which one would you guys go with. My gut tells me the GS 430 but parts of me feel that I may want to additional power.

I have not driven either car and there is none around that I can test drive and will have to buy out of state.

Appreciate feedback from you guys if its worthwhile to go with the GS 430 rather than the GS460. I know I can get a cleaner 460 if I am willing to spend more but I want to keep this at a similar price point as the 430 as I already have 3 other cars.

Thanks in advance.

Eddy

Test drive. Both of them. That's good the 430 has had the timing belt and water pump replaced and hopefully they also did the (cam & main) seals as well

If you prefer the 460, hold out for a different one. I personally would NEVER buy from one of those sketchy little stealerships. I drove the 430 before my 460, and there was no going back once I took the 460 for a drive. Not sure how much time you have, but if you can wait, then wait Best of luck!

It's actually a ford dealership and has a few locations.

But given the fact that it was in a previous accident make think twice.

Trd. What is the main difference from your test drive between the two?

Is this a common problem?

Forgot to mention that the 430 comes with a set of snow tires.

The main thing I liked, on top of the power, was the 8-speed I also like the mild face-lift and the fact that the 4.6L has a timing chain. Can't go wrong with the 4.3L, but I was just sold on the 460.

Any other feedback?

Seems like the vote is to go with the GS 460.

Go with a GS460, but maybe not this one due to the accident. In the end, it comes down to your budget and what you like.

Not a problem as it's procedure to replace the seals as they're exposed when replacing the water pump and timing belt. Basically, it appears the big maintenance items have been done on the 430

If it says anything, I test drove every 3GS engine variant available and look what I have today.
