Default Gs 460 oil consumption

I'm using 0 20 synthetic oil at 5000 mile intervals. It seems almost every time I check it around 3000 it's low quart or so . Wish there was oil pressure guage. Engine sounds perfect on low oil and wife is clueless about checking it even though she drives it everyday Anyone else notice this much oil consumption. Seems reading here about the 460 motors they have oil seal rings that are a little less tight for better efficency and power at the expense of a lil oil use

About 3 months ago my oil light came on while I was driving in to work and I was about a quart low for no reason. Mine is an 2008 with only 53,000 miles. First time its happened.

Low tension compression rings...oh well...guess you can't have the best of both worlds...

Really, the vaunted GS 350 burning oil before 55K on the clock? Unheard of. Only the GS 300 is a dog. Don't let Gotcha350 know, he'll be beside himself.

Not really...first of all this is a tread about the 460....not 350....and to be honest...as long as mine doesn't start burning oil I'm not losing any sleep.

It sits in the driveway most off the time anyway...I put about 4k a year on her now so I will probably never know if does burn oil.

But....i still say that you are yelling fire and I haven't seen any smoke...just because 2 members with 350 have said their cars burn oil...don't worry LexusLive...I keep checking mine for you and keep you posted if I notice a loss of oil....lol

I have 58,000 on my 2010 GS460 and use no oil between changes, at 5000 mile intervals.
