Default stupid side mirror position bug?

I was resetting my memory settings after changing the battery on my 07.

If I set the memory,
then manually adjust the side mirror to some other position
then press the memory button to recall the position back to what I set it...

the side mirror does not go back to the memorized position I just set a minute ago.

The side mirror actually moves to some wack position, and even grinds the motor gears nonstop as it hits the limit, unless you manually adjust the mirror to override it. It's not intelligent enough to stop grinding gears.

If I manually mess with the side mirrors, it throws off the memorized mirror settings WTF!

pretty stupid that it can't return to its memorized position

Anyone else have this bug, and how is it fixed?

I stopped using this feature. I was tired selecting reverse, mirrors automatically tilt, shift to drive and mirror would sometimes return to the original setting. Its the "sometimes" that really irked me. Feature is awesome when it does work properly.

are you making sure that both the left and right green lights are off. Otherwise when put in reverse it messes up the setting

You can turn off the reverse slanting mirrors on the control panel. If you hit the left and right button in the middle it shuts it off. I always leave mine off, so it doesnt wear out the motor in the mirrors.

I'm not talking about auto-tilt down during reverse.

I'm parked.
set the memory.

Let's say the valet adjusts your side mirror 10 degrees.

You get your car back and press #1. The side mirror moves to your memorized position PLUS 10 degrees.
So it's 10 degrees off.

Proper operation would be- no matter how you jack with the side mirrors, pressing a preset button should bring it back to the exact memorized position.

That is not the case with mine.

Mine does the same PMan, 08' GS350 AWD

But I also haven't tried "taking it off of a side" and leaving it "in the middle" like mentioned above.

Either way, IT IS SUPER ANNOYING!!

Mine does the same thing. I read somewhere that it's a motor issue with this model. You apparently have to replace the motor in the mirrors and that solves the "ghost tilting" issue along with the issue of the tilt when you have the reverse feature on. Idk how much it will cost, but I plan on doing it soon. I can't even fold them in when I park without this happening.
