see a few questions here
i don't know what slb4 is, vaistech doesn't have such unit. sl3b is the bluetooth kit, it does audio, NO video
for the setup emulation mode, check on the emulation list on vaistech (should also come with the unit manual). just go with whatever the 06 is, nav or not doesn't matter. i forgot if it's cd or md. i am pretty sure it's not mp3 mode
the pairing you have with the car (for phone) has nothing to do with the sl3b. you have to pair to the sl3b after installation (and power up, obviously) which is responsible for streaming. that's my understanding
on the left side (close to center console) of the glove box, there is a trap door that you can pop open and run the cables. you can keep the unit there and run usb cable to center console
in the center console (armrest storage), at the very bottom, there is another trap door that you can pry open. if you cut a corner on that trap door, that becomes a perfect way to run a cable through. i do that for almost all my customers and they love it
yes, the 06/07 gs are half-finished products imho. 06 gs doesn't play mp3 cd, and aux didn't appear until 08. honestly though, i can care less about aux in general

Another thing to keep in mind with VaisTech (and maybe others) is that it WON'T work if you have anything else connected to your system. I had a factory 30pin ipod cable in my car, and the sl3b did not work until I took it out of the trunk (y connection to sat box). Now I know this is why the iVIC didn't work correctly in my car. I'm happy with the sl3b though

i think it depends on the parts and how their addressing is done. i have a customer who had a previously installed sat radio module, he installed the sl2i-up and it worked just fine. but i can definitely see if both units are trying to fight for the same address inside the head unit then it's a problem.
of course, within vaistech units, you can always daisy chain them and they work together, so you can have sat + ipod

My first post. I just installed the SL3B, and the audio is great. I am using an HTC one with android 4.4 and Beats audio. the only issue I have is that I can't change playlists. I contacted Vais, and I am awaiting their reply. I can confirm that it displays text info from my phone as well as Pandora.

Here is the reply from Viastech.
Diagram in the manual is universal for all the cars, so it wasn't
designed for '06 GS, it just gives an idea of how our system connects
to the car.
As far as playlists, this functionality works for iOS devices only.
With Android devices you can only switch tracks using track up and
down and steering wheel controls. Playlists has to be selected through
the phone itself.
CD changer emulation is correct one for your phone.
Thanks,
