Is it possible to install an aftermarket hid kit on my '07 GS350?
Ok, ordered a pair of new D4S bulbs. The place sent me D4C bulbs and I was told they would work for D4S applications. Replaced them and now both headlights go off after a short while. Is this a bulb issue or ballast? I know the ballasts are under the headlight and somehow all connected together in the housing. Is it possible to install an aftermarket ballast? If so where can I see how to do it? This doesn't seem like it will be the usual plug and play hid kit like I am used to. Thanks in advance!

Your post is a bit off, the ballasts and bulbs combined is considered an HID kit.
If you're talking about aftermarket HID bulbs? You honestly get what you paid for in this category. Where did you purchase your bulbs?
For the record, Xenon Depot makes pretty decent (from what I've heard, I haven't had an experience with them yet) HID bulbs, so does Garax, Philips, and of course, Toshiba.
There's many posts on how to remove and replace the ballasts, but I doubt it's your ballasts.
Let's start at where you purchased your bulbs from? Also, what wattage are they? (we use 35w). Do not take their word on D4C, you purchase what was made for your car, demand a refund IMO and have it sent back.

I always feel our OEM ballast is weak comparing to after market. +1 on replacing the oem ballast. A member of our CL already replaced it and he did a diy thread somewhere. Search for it.
I'm thinking of doing it myself. But I also want to replace our whole headlight assembly. Our light sux pointing side way. Not sure if your GS350 point side way like my GS430. I also want to replace the lens inside the headlight. Too much work that's y I'm putting this off.
Here ya go... linky for the lazy
