I absolutely hate having front plates, but honestly this one being the DD, a red car, and already drilled for a front plate, I'm going to simply go ahead and put one on.

It is pretty noticeable; 300HP v. 342HP. Also, can't beat going 80mph with the RPM only at 2k.

Ask and you shall receive. Here's a few I just snapped after spending the majority of the day cleaning her out:

Dam bro that car is CLEAN... I was really sold on getting an SC430 next but you just officially tipped the ball there other way.... looks very clean and in great condition. And that's a GS460??? I didn't think those models came in that series... I thought the 460s were 4GS only... what's the specs on the engine? Man I'm in love with GS cars. They really are SPACESHIPS.. Enjoy that badboy!

Clean car!! I was looking for a GS460 in the DFW area around the same weekend you picked this one up. However, i ended up getting a 07 GS450h, but I really wanted that V8 power. On a side note, where did you get the OEM lexus rims currently on the GS400? I'm coming that way soon and I'm looking to swap out my standard hybrid rims for a style like that?

The GS460 was 3GS only; ~1600 were ever made from 2008-2011.

Thanks! The rims on the GS400 came off of a 2006-2007 GS430/GS350. I picked them up off of a local fellow forum member.

Thanks Tony. The GS400 is leaking a bit of oil, so I'll need to get that addressed soon.

Very rare car then bro! I must say it's really nice. Take care of that bad boy. Keep it as stock looking as possible! That look will never get old my brother!

Hi there

Could you provide a review of the handling and performance of the car and also compare it with your GS400. I am considering a GS460. I have a GS400 with TRD sways, Borla cat back, KN intake and KYB/L-tuned springs. I am assuming the GS460 will be good improvement, but I did test drive one a few months back and I was slightly disappointed in the throttle response. Specifically there seemed to be a bit of a lag in throttle response. Admittedly my test drive was rather short and I never really had a chance to give the car a fair shake. Hopefully you can provide some feedback on your experience with the car. I have also test driven the 450H and that car really impresses the heck out me. The low speed throttle response is awesome. Does the 460 come close to the 450H?

Appreciate your thoughts
Thanks

Truth be told, I can't really see myself swaying from a V8. I have driven all of the engine variants available for the 3GS, except for the 450h. I personally think the throttle response is better than the 350 and 300 for that matter. I'm sure the 450h is a great car, but I can't do a CVT, and don't want to worry about the day when the hybrid battery fails. If anything, I like the rarity of the GS460. You'll never see yourself driving down the road.

As much as I have liked test driving the 450h cars I too am worried about the hybrid batteries and overall complexity. I did test drive a GS350 RWD and I thought the throttle response was not too bad so if you say the GS460 is better, that's certainly encouraging.

How do you find the overall handling. The car mags pretty much all give the GS460 a thumbs down but I don't always agree with their reviews. At least for the case of my GS400 it never had good reviews for handling but I actually don't mind it at all. Granted it's not a Porche but with a few mods its not a bad sports sedan. Does the 460 handle like a boat or is it reasonably nimble?

F-Sport sways and decent tires will noticeably improve the handling with sharper and more responsive turn in. I almost didn't buy a 3GS as I thought the ride and handling was overall very lackluster. Turned out the first 3 I drove all had run flat tires. Drove my GS430 with a set of A/S Michelin and couldn't believe how different it was. After installing the sways, was very satisfied with the overall handling. IMO, these cars should have included the stiffer sway bars stock.
