Headlight Auto Off Failed?
I haven't had a bit of trouble from my 06 GS430. Last night I had the strangest occurrence...I had parked to go into band rehearsal, and when I came out, ~3 and a half hours later, the car was in alarm death throws...a muted, dying honk and the lights dimly flashing. I needed a jump to get it started.
Anyone know if the lights fail to turn off, does the alarm come on at some point?
In the situation I had last night, I was in a locked building wearing in ear monitors, so WW3 could have started outside and we wouldn't have known.
The odd thing is the last guy in recalled that my headlights were on when he came in, but he assumed that he was getting there just seconds after me. That wasn't the case, so I assume the lights never turned off.
I suppose that someone may have knocked on the door, but they wouldn't have been heard. A good samaritan might have tried to open the car to turn the lights off???
Does simply trying to open the car make the alarm come on? Other than the lights not turning off (which is troubling, in itself), it seems like a mystery as to what else happened...why the alarm was going off?
