Default No AUX port. Are there any other options? 06 Lexus GS

Hello all.

I was riding with a few of my friends the past few weeks and I have a friend who has a Chevy Malibu and I have a friend who has a Nissan sentra and come to find out their cars have AUX ports so they dont need CD's to listen to music. So I looked in my glove box of my GS to see if I had a AUX port and come to find out I dont I was sooooooo jealous of my friends. I mean come on now! I have a LEXUS which is a high end car and my friends have Nissan and Chevy(No offense to them) and they have AUX ports and it seems like theirs are standard on their cars. I m a little PISSED about the fact that I keep having to put 6 new CDs in every so often. My question to the club is, is there anything I can do to fix my non AUX port problem of do I just have to suck this one up?

I do have the Mark Levinson sound system which comes with the cassette player??

I have the same problem in my 07 GS. However there is a ipod Aux wire in the glovebox for me that the previous owner had installed. I however would lover a 3.5mm aux port. I havent found any answers so far on how to get one. Someone on this forums i'm sure has a solution...

There's is a solution. To OP: You have to purchase an aftermarket unit like the vaistech unit. It's fairly easy and I did it in 15 minutes by myself when I first purchased the car.

To paul: One way would be to open it up and see which unit you have, you may be able to just swap over to a universal unit if it is indeed the vaistech unit.

GL to both of you! I have the universal unit and it uses RCAs, I just simply use a RCA to 3.5mm converter (my unit has video play to go with it).

http://www.gtacarkits.com/

I'm going to buy this car today or tomorrow ??
They are located just up the street from my workplace.

Seems like a well designed and thought out kit but I'll need to install it and see how works !!
I'll post again after I get it working.

Please let us know how the sound quality is with the gta car kit.
It seems like it would be perfect for me.

Thanks in advance

Default does the gta kit work with bt/nav overide kit

Im interested in getting the gta kit for my car but i already have the prestigeous society bt / nav overide kit installed. Will these two work together ? i know the ps kit didnt really connect to the radio it was more connected to the nav (top part of the radio). In the video on gta website it looks like he pulls a white connector from the lower part of the radio to connect the gta kit.

I have no idea ??
My car doesn't have NAV, so I'm not sure the mod you've done will effect this in anyway ?

I just bought my GS300 this week and have been too busy to install the kit.
I'll most likely get it in for the weekend.

I'm enjoying the Lexus, my first one.. I have the base stereo so the sound isn't that great but at least the car is very clean for its age !!

Interested as well. Will this work with an IPOD touch? Also, why is this system better or worse than the Vaistech?

No one mentioned this being better or worse than Vaistech ?

I posted the link because I thought it was pretty simple and decently priced.
I hope it works or I just threw away over $100

I use a Samsung phone and will hook up to the Aux Cable to hear my music but my wife has the iPhone4 and my daughter the Touch. I'll try them once I get installed.

Sorry, that didn't come out right. I was just wondering how it compares to the comparable Vaistech unit. Please let us know how the install goes and how the sound is. If it's digital, I assume it will sound great. I mean, digital is digital, right?
