They don't seem to be in much of a rush on getting anything done... but hey at least I get a loaner.

looks like it was just a minor ECU thing. didn't even need to be replaced....
Lexus Corp is covering the cost of the new transmission, dealer still wants over $3500 in just labor alone.

I wouldn't pay a dime over what it cost to repair the ECU. Call a lawyer if you can't resolve their error.
You shouldn't have to pay for their sloppieness or lack of knowledge to repair these cars. You took your Lexus to the Lexus dealer because you trust them to be the best.

i agree with ibidu1. Can you elaborate on what the minor ECU thing was? What did they have to replace or do?

well looks like they replaced the engine ecu "logic issue internally, transmission has a very abrupt down shift into first gear. ecu is holdong on to solenoid too long"
so my total is $3k. however, i get the transmission free, and it includes the ecu replacement.
i don't really have the energy to argue further, so i'm just going to consider that fair enough, even though I'm not totally satisfied.

I'm having the same issue!! Dealer said 90% ECU ($1,860) 10% shift solenoid ($260)... Next day went to auto zone, got P0756 code... Shift solenoid S2 stuck open, oil passages blocked.... Went to tranny shop, they also said shift solenoid... Replace shift solenoid #35240-50040, still have same issue!!! Now he say it's the ECU.. Used ECU reliable? Gonna pick up car tomo, and see what my options are.. Any ideas? Please help.. Thanks
