Wheels that fit the best!

I have a 2006 lexus gs300 and am looking to buy 20'' rims from a friend.. Will 225/35zr20 tires fit my car without any rubbing issues? If not, what are the best size tires to get? Also, I have noticed that some people get different size tires in the front than the rear. What the purpose for that, and does it negatively affect the ride quality if the tires are the same size in the front and rear?

225/35zr20 will not rub, I have 245/35/20 and it's close for mine but they are even OK.

Is yours lowered? Mine is not.

Staggered sizes (larger in rear) is more for looks than anything else, and while it looks cool, you then cannot rotate your tires to extend life. Ride is not affected either way.

tire size

Thanks for the info! No my cars not lowered. I'm glad to hear they can fit. I know when searching for other rims the rim seems to usually come with 245/30/20 tires. I guess that's good if I wanted a thinner tire. Do you think that would be so thin that it would affect the ride quality, as opposed to sticking with the 225/35zr20?

I'm guessing 225/35 will ride a bit stiffer, that's gonna be pretty thin rubber.

I wsa deciding a little while ago between 225 vs 245. I went with 2225 cause I like that thin look but I wish I got the 245. As my brand new rims already have three huge chips out of them as where 245 you will have way better protection on the edges.

I have 235/35 on the fronts and they are a little meaty. I think 225/35 would look a little better but will definitely need a drop.

Here is stock height (AWD) on 245/35/20 (Nitto 555s). This is the max amount of rubber you can get without rubbing (and it's darn close, but clears). The ride is equal to stock but speedo is 3% off.

I have Vossen CV-1's on mine and im running 20x9 in the front with 225/35/20 and 20x10.5 245/35/20 in the rear i dont have rubbing issues all though i need camber adjustments for the front thats about it and i have recently changed my spring rates all the way round i had 10k in the front which i swapped out with 12k in the front and had 8k in the rear which i swapped out with 10k so the ride would be stiffer and would cause less rubbing when i hit dips and bumps.

Heres a picture of mine
