Radio turns off and ejects all the discs?

Hey guys, our new gs will randomly turn the audio off, and start ejecting all the discs. I'm not sure what's up with that, I tried searching but I didn't find anything. Also the previous owner must have gone through a crappy auto car wash because the fin has two "bites" into it like got hung up on something..on two different occasions possibly. I'm assuming that's the radio antenna and that's why the stations don't come in as clear as they should.

Anyways I doubt that has the radio turning the audio off and ejecting discs but figured I would throw that out there. Any ideas?

Mine is doing the same, it is at the dealer now they are switching out the raidio unit. I have an 08 Navi/Non ML. THye are doing it under my CPO warranty.

It happened twice to me, and the dealer replaced the components each time. BTW, warranty was in effect.

Happend to me twice, but this is a new cd unit that I have.

Wow.. thought it was just me. My CD's sometimes eject themselves.

Ok well I don't have any warranty. At least its not just me though

Is there a fix for this besides replacing the entire unit?

Re: radio malfunction

I have a 2010 with Nav/ML radio that started acting strangely this morning! I've only owned it for a year and 4 days - and has never acted up before.

This morning, though, I noticed the track changed without prompting it to, then ignored a button press when I tried to change the track, and I saw the accent lights on the radio portion of the dash were flickering a little bit. I was able to turn the car off and restart it at a red light and it behaved well for a few minutes, but then over the next half hour or so it switched between satellite, auxillary, CD, FM radio on its own at seemingly random intervals, flickred on and off, and ejected 2 CDs on its own - at several points the little 'load' indicator lights on either side of the tray flashed orange/red - so I was wondering if the MP3 discs I burned were degrading - but they seem to play fine elsewhere.

My car is still in warranty (and I'm just about to buy the platinum extension to 8yr) - but has anyone found a solution that doesn't involve swapping out the unit at the dealer? I live in Miami, FL, and the local dealers are utterly incompetent and rude...

My extended warranty covered mine (09 GS 460) this year

Maybe it has the flu.

Mine has begun ejecting discs for the third time. It will be addressed when I take it in for the recall. Fortunately I have an extended warranty which will cover it. The warranty (8 yrs/75k miles) will then have more than paid for itself.

Mine (2010/ML) has acted up about 4 times since my last post less than a month ago. I'll have it addressed during the recall, also still in warranty/extended warranty.

I did seem to notice that it would occur whenever I tried to press buttons on the radio portion of the dash it would set off a cascade of odd behavior. In particular - if I press on the track/seek buttons - or on the plastic casing around these buttons, it would seem to set it off... I wonder if moisture/residue has built up over time? I would normally just disassemble the unit to investigate -but I don't want to interfere with the warranty.

At least it doesn't change the volume - my 2001 GS430 w/ ML would randomly max out the volume - and it was a quite a bit more powerful system than this car has - very painful.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one, though.
