Default HID issues...

Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum and just wanted to start by saying everybody has some badass cars here. Can't wait to have fun with mine okay back to the point, I just put hids on my headlights and fog lights. Every time they turn on, it's either one headlight is out or one fog light. I just need to turn it off n back on and then it's fine. I did some research but couldn't find anything related. Sometimes all of them will work once turned on but one or the other will go out while I'm driving. I do have d4S bulbs on them. It is getting really frustrating... Anybody have similar issues with aftermarket hids? Could it be that I got faulty bulbs? Any help is appreciated.

It's difficult to say what the issue is??? U might want to start with a new set to see if u got faulty bulbs?? Try exchanging them to see if that's the case which hopefully it is.... U don't want to have a ballast issue cause that a lot of $ to replace! Good luck with ur issue. I had the same problem and it turn out that I needed to replace my HID's bulbs.

ballast are not a lot of money if you need to replace them. they can be had for $70 a piece on ebay.

if it was the ballast they wouldnt come on after you turned them off and back on. its more than likely the bulb. are they cheaper bulbs?

I had the same issue but with the stock HID bulb. One side would come on fine and all the sudden turn off. In order get back on was to turn lights off and then back on. I swapped bulb with other side and problem followed so I replaced both bulbs with new ones and have never had the issue since. I would say swap and see if issue follows, most likely bad bulbs. Good luck.

Yes they are brand new bulbs. I got the bulbs from ijdm toys. Anybody heard of them? Also, it's not only one side that keeps going out. Both of them randomly go off n on. Sometimes even both of them will be out at one point.
