i don't think that's a good idea at all. that sounds like almost 1" different in diameter from and rear, the awd system will probably give you trouble

I remember hearing BMW awd's are not 50 50 power distribution from front and rear, they are like 60 rear, 40 front so that probably makes a difference with the tires. Does anyone know if Lexus awd is 50 50 power distribution?

To have roughly same diameter, you need 225/40/18, 255/35/18

that is bmw, absolutely zero to do with lexus. they are not using the same awd system right? it's all about how the system is programmed to determine slip / distribution. all you need to think just that in your lexus, right now awd system is expect same rotation on all wheels. imagine different diameter, front and rear different rotations, and computer will go nuts

Not true. On the base 335xi it is non-staggered 245/45/17, and on the 335xi Sport or M-Sport BMW has what I described earlier: 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. This setup keeps the diameter of front and rear within 0.08".

And on the 550xi they actually use a non-staggered setup even on the M-Sport models. I reckon the F30 xi will also be non-staggered.

That's almost an inch smaller than spec. You think your AWD has a gap now, wait till you install that setup.

Which is why the best setup for this fellow would be stick with his stock tires - 245/45/18

the last thing youre gonna want is to be looking smooth and broken down on the side of the road try to stick as close to stock diameter, its the best way to go

i believe stock tire sizs is 245-40/18 all around. If you want the staggered look, yu can try spacers on the rear. i had a 10mm with my stock 18x8 and had no issues. 15mm would work too.

if you have 245/40/18, then 285/35/18 rear will work
