custom leather installs?
Hey guys just wondering if anyone has had any experience with custom leather installs. Was thinkin about doing after market leather but leery of having someone take on the job. Any stories to share?

Whatever you do, you need to consider keeping perforated *** cushions. Everything else can be covered but your *** area as that is your AC vents and heated seats (unless you dont mind neglecting the cool air down there ).
I've had experience with all local shops in my area, pertaining to leather installs on my seats. To be honest you always have to deal back and forth, make #s work to you, and see the jobs that the people there have done. I always like to check their work, stitching and all, and go by word of mouth really....
My very first ordeal with an upholstery shop was $600 for 2-seats (miata) and a leather roof. Everything held up very well, from the age of when I was 14 until I was 21... There were no cracks or imperfections on the leather whatsoever. So do keep in mind the grade of leather you use also . I also did a bit of reading before jumping into a shop to do it.
Either way you go, be sure to post up pictures of the work and progress from the shop! I'm very interested when seeing custom jobs done
I'm considering doing Alcantara sometime down the line after my house hunting has settled down.
P.S. Also, your factory leather parts (if it is indeed the seats) I believe can be salvaged and saved, in case you're not happy with the product.
