Hello guys I have a 2006 Lexus GS430 which has low compression in cylinder 4. I have bought another 2006 Lexus gs430 from the auction which has a good motor and transmission. I can’t seem to find videos on people swapping this engines at all. I want to drop the whole subframe with the motor, transmission, and suspension but I’m doing this at home without a lift. Does anyone have a video they can point me to or the basics of pulling this motor out. Thank you

may be worth investing in an OEM service manual- there are a few sets on eBay.

You can't pull engines without a lift how are you going to move them around? It is possible to drag the engine out from under the car but this requires the car to be raised dangerously high. There are a million engine pull vids on Youtube start watching they don't have to be for your exact car. There is no reading a service manual and then knowing what to do, you either are capable of such a job or you are not. Not to say the service manual isn't valuable it is, but much of the job requires mechanical aptitude.

#1 rule is safety you are dealing with multiple situations that can get you potentially seriously injured or killed. How many engines have you pulled? If the answer is zero then the learning curve is rough.

? I have a hoist that lifts the engine out but I don’t have an actual lift to lift the car up if I want to pull it out under with the subframe the way I want to. I have swapped engines before but I wanted to get some insights as to what I would be working with before I started. The videos on YouTube would be no help since they wouldn’t be about this specific swap. I came on here to get some help not smarta55 replies.

didn't sound like a smarta55 reply to me- If I was attempting it, I'd want good feedback from people with experience doing things like this before undertaking. Seems like thats what they were trying to give. It is a major job.

Then you're set assuming you have a full compliment of tools. If you don't have a load leveler for the engine hoist you'll need one.

You dont need a lift! You do need atleast 1 jack and atleast 2 jack stands, wood blocks

The easiest fastest way is to undo the subframe, driveshaft, top mounts of the shocks, undo the wiring, undo the grounds, remove the radiator, drop the whole assembly as one unit. It should take you long, then just swap it out with the parts car. Just try to be gentle with the wiring plugs, as they are more likely brital and could slow you down if your not gentle enough when removing them.
