Lightbulb LED Turn Signal Bulbs, worth a try?

While searching high and low on how to fix the hyper flash issue, I came across these.... I wonder if anybody tried anything similar or have any comments or suggestions that they can share regarding them.... they seem to work fine on the RX, i wonder if it will work for the 3GS...

Please give me some input

Thanks

Look cool, but I have 2 concerns: price ($92 plus shipping for 4 bulbs) and are they bright enough with only 21 SMDs each? I went LED the old traditional way: 96-SMD bulbs for $38 and LED relay for $7.

The bulbs are plenty bright, but not any brighter than the OEM bulbs were (this is why I think that 21 SMD is not enough). I did lose the lock/unlock flash confirmation with this combination, though.

Flash confirmation is convenient. When you are walking away from the car and not sure whether you lock it or not, you push the "lock" button and see it flashing once. Without the flash confirmation it still beeps, but you may be far enough from the car not to hear the beep.

I had to choose between the cool-looking LED turn signals and the flash confirm. I went to the turn signals.

After doing the LED relay, do the "emergency or all way signals" work when the car is completely "off" (not acc nor ig-on)?

Yes, everything works, except the lock/unlock confirmation.

I had the same issue with this; I didn't want to give up the blinking lights. So I never did it returned them and bought all the other LED's i needed, but the ones I got were significantly brighter than stock. Instead I went with the invisible bulb.

"Invisible bulb"
This is how it looks on the car,
no more yellow or orange reflection from bulbs to the signal light housing
It will give you a clean look.

The number of LEDs on a bulb has nothing to do with how bright they are. A hundred cheap dim LEDs is going to be dimmer than one powerful bright one. It just spreads the dim over a greater area.

While this is generally true, the LEDs here used in all these bulbs are generally the same output with more output from the 5050 SMD than the ones with the 96 one. The ones with the 96 SMD have a total output of 384 lumens which is pretty good. If only they made high quality ones with Cree LEDs then you would have no concern for light output.

Actually I have just found some Cree ones but they do not have any in Yellow color.

too expensive and light is not as bright. I'll stick with OEM.

Anyone tried the reverse bulbs for better visibility on the back up camera?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-White-Ca...ht_5321wt_1163
Those use Cree LEDs and if they really are Q5 bin each LED costs about $4-5 a piece so a pretty good deal right there for 2 that's almost $10 in just parts. I bet these are just driven lightly at probably 1W so thats only about 100 lumens but if you know some soldering I bet you can just change the current limiting resistor and have it running at around 3W to put out about 280 or so lumens just don't be backing up for way too long because at 3W those LEDs put out some decent heat.
