Default Why are these cars so hard to find?

I'm shopping around for a 2009-10 CPO GS350 and its like impossible... Is there a reason why these cars are so rare?

Hey man. YUP I had the same problem. I asked this question to Lexus of Greenwich CT. A big shot. They said that while this car was in production it was not popular and it wasnt a big hit so there wasnt alot of demand so alot of them were not produced. He said at the time you had the 5 series and RLS out, and for this price and the car itself the demand just wasnt high enough. But now that the prices dropped, and with the AWD drive feature they are hot items and they cant keep them on their lots.

AWD option has been there since 2006 gs300, Used cars in general are hard to find cause they come and go really fast.

I think 2009/2010 is still pretty new. My guess is that people who buy Lexus usually keep them for a while.

If you think V6s are rare, try finding a V8!

wikipedia data shows less than 30k sold in 2006, 23k in '07, 16k in '08, 7.4k in '09 and I'd guess it may drop off even more for the later years. Took me 5 months to find a decent local 430 in the color combo I wanted (flint mica/black).

yuppp thats what I was told by my dealer... TRY finding a White gs350 in general and you will have a TOUGH time finding that... The cars did not sell well.. but now that the price dropped its the hottest AWD luxury car you can BUY!

a lot of cars are still under lease, which are mostly 3 yrs. that's one big reason why they are so rare. those who bought the cars they of course are still holding on to the cars.

Well if the cars came out in 2006 and 2007 a 4 year old lease should already be up and 2008 coming due veryyy soon.. and based on the wiki data less and less will be avaiable. Like i said these cars did not have a high enough demand for production to produce more.

Where are you looking? Just looked at the Lexus website and they show several CPO'd 350's. Not sure if they are AWD, but I didn't see that in your search requirements.

Thanks for the info guys. Surprised to see the numbers went down 50% every year since 2006... I can't help but to wonder why people weren't buying..? I mean you can't beat the price tag of a gs with all the luxury, comfort and performance?

Moose66, I'm in NYC. All the Lexus dealers here(all 5 boroughs plus the ones out far in long island and jersey) list a few GS's on their site but when i call them up or visit, none are in stock except the ones with high mileage. I guess Im just gonna have to keep on lookin...

Mariusz, just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to find yours??

well it's all subjective. i got my 08 gs350 because it was a sensible choice. good money for the car, reliable (well at least i thought). performance i would choose 535 over this. build quality is so-so i am not a big fan. and most importantly, cabin space and trunk space both suck big time.

again, it's not a bad car at all. whether it suits you or not that's up to you. sales on the 3gs is definitely on the sad side

Hey guys..

LESXUS 4GS-Well I looked for my gs for about 2-3 months.. And FINALLY I found a pearl white gs350 with black on ash interior.. But I was searching and calling almost everyday until I found it. I'm from CT so i called lexus of massapequea, lexus of queens all over NYC and upstate NY and CT.

Rominl- Why do you say the car is so unreliable? What have you experienced with the car that makes you say that?

Well I think the GS sales were so poor because 55k is alot of money for a car,, and they had almost no advertisement so all the old "people" ended up buying them. Nothing was geared towards the youger crowd.. Take for example the BMW and AUDI's they were geared towards the younger crowd and older crowd... Think about how many ads you REALLLY saw for the GS?
