Default What is the widest tire I can run on OEM 18's?

I need new tires and would like to run a wider rear tire, if possible. I'm running the stock 18x8 wheel. Just curious what the wides tire is for the rear without any rubbing. My car is not lowered.

Thanks,
Todd

What width is the OEM tire? I would not be comfortable with anything over a 245 on a x8 rim.

it's an 18x8.5in rim, you can totally go wider than OEM specs.....

You can probably get away with 265, though i don't know why you want wider tires, it looks ridiculous lol.

You can go as wide as you want OEM height also, it won't ever rub.

no one ever said that lol.... it's just, unconventional, it wastes more gas, and in theory it doesn't help you turn any better (more for a straight shoot-out setup, for drag). I had a friend who is an ex-350z owner. He had Hoosier's on the back of his z for fun, so yes, it's possible, but very unconventional on a DD setup.

Actually, they are 18x8. IMO, for the size of a car a GS is, I think 245's are a touch small. I put 255/40/18's on, & I think it looks better. Helps avoid wife's tendency of curb rash, also

Sorry, when I think OEM 18s, I think G-spyder wheels lol...

http://my.is/forums/f95/18-g-spider-...61/index4.html

They came in both 18x8 and 18x8.5 flavor.

I run 245/40/18, but like you said leon, there isnt anything wrong with going a little wider. They do however, waste a bit more gas.
