Yes it does Beware though, SOMETIMES it doesn't work (the service rep told me that usually means one of your door lock actuators are going bad). So be careful!

It also works when you leave the car on the "On" position.

yeah thats right, never really taken it off auto, so figured that it had to do with the auto lights, oh well learn something new everyday.
This is why you see some people driving cars around with all of their lights on all the time. They don't even mess with the light switch. It is set to on, and when they power off and lock the car, the lights go off. When they start the car, all of the lights come back on. Certainly doesn't bode well for the life of the lights. Whatever that really is.
