Hey guys. Nothing really to update you on. The car has 163,532 miles as of today. All is great with the car and she still drives as she did when I got it. The headlights want to go out out after they are on for a few seconds. It might be the left out. Then it might be the right one out. If I shut the lights off and then turn them on, they come on. I am thinking I may need two new ballasts? Anyone know what my problem could be? It can't be the bulb since it works every time I turn them on.

It isn't used on the GS (at least not on my '07), however it's used on my wife's '10 RX350. There is an obvious insert point at the bottom of the filter housing on her car - also, the housing is vertical, not horizontal, like on the GS. The filter element itself can be used on either car, although the part #'s are different, and one is slightly longer than the other. I confirmed this info with my dealer's service dept.
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I ordered a set of aftermarket bulbs (5000k) for 80 bucks instead of the oem (4300k) for 300 a set. That was the reduced price from Sewell. After more research, it makes sense it would be the bulbs since the igniter is built into them. Merry Christmas all.

Couple of things on the bulbs: they light so its not the lamp failing. If the bulb fails, it won't come back on. Ballast sometimes get flakey so you can test by swapping the lamp to the opposite side. Sounds like in your case its happening sporadically on both sides so I think you should consider line voltage. If its under or over volt, the ballast might kick out.
I had the same situation on mine and it turned out that the connector wasn't fastened right or it wasn't grounding all the time. I couldn't reproduce the problem but in the process of swapping it over, it wouldn't go out anymore. Hope this helps.
