Default Help with headlights

Hi all,
Recently got my 06gs430 and luvin it. I have been going nuts tryin to fix my lights. Im tryin to change my drl/high bulb and its either flickering or not even coming on. When tested with another bulb/ballast, usually it ends up being the ballast. Am i missing something here. I thought I might need a cancel thing bc the same thing happened to my benz, which was told it was need to trick the system. But I've search and havent seen anything about the lexus needing it. How is everyone else doin their lights?

FWIW, I had a similar problem but with the HID lights. Intermittently, one or the other headlight would not light. Dealer changed BOTH lights at a cost of $700.00. I didn't think much of the cost as it was covered under warranty. But sure does seem excessive for HID lights.
