Default Reverse Mount Face of Rim?

Just picked up some 3 piece work wheels, +42 offset in front and +44 in rear. Someone said that I would be able to reverse mount the faces of the rims to get a lower offset? I was not too clear on what they meant.

Im pretty sure Work wheels are 2 piece, but reverse mounting is usually how the tires are mounted and would have not a damn thing to do with offset, nor would enable you to go with a lower offset. Either you misunderstood them or they were blowing smoke up your a$$

that's what guys with BBS wheels usually do.

You mount the face of the wheel on the inner side. IMO it looks cleaner. Check the pic below.

I don't know what work wheels you have but I don't think it's possible on work wheels, well, at lease it wasn't on my vs-xx's due to the design around the edge.

Or maybe the guy meant using the inner barrel as the outer (basically you flip the wheel face), I've seen a couple of ppl doing that but it's not a really good idea cuz it will make the offset negative..

^ ppl usually do it to make the fitment a bit more aggressive, but still it's only like 5mm more...

That's significant when it comes to clearing brakes.

^it doesn't change the brake clearance cuz you still have the same back spacing on the face. It just makes the offset a bit more aggressive.
