Middle of June, We just had unexpected hail in north Texas, which including my town.
I just found 12 dents around the car + some scratches caused by tree braches in strong wild.
My question, is it worth it to claim the insurance? (looks it it will cost me just little over 1000 dollars when my deductible is $500)
My insurance premium will go up?

I do not want to claim the insurance if I ended up paying more for

Your insurance premium shouldnt go up because of a natural occurance. If you were involved in an accident, then thats different.

 

Its a comprehensive claim. It is not a surchargable loss. If the paint damage encompasses more than 2 body panels it will cost more than $1000. Particularly if you have the iconic hail dents in the panels. Estimates are still free so talk to your local shop about it just to get a better idea of cost.

 

Paintless dent removal? Might be just as much as you dedectable.

 

Check with your insurance company. I was getting windshield chips filled because I was told insurance would cover this. They did. But when it was time for renewal, my rate increased because I had three comp claims on my policy. A little tidbit they did not tell me when I submitted my claims.
