Default Help!! Cold air intake ---2006 gs430

I am going nuts trying to find a cold air for my '06 GS430!! From the old suppliers who don't offer them anymore to the overpriced and underperforming F SPORT pipe...have you found any legit cold air intakes for this year/model?? I really want the K&N Typhoon but it says its only good for GS350...could this be modified? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

honestly, most cold air intakes don't provide much performance upgrades.. in most cases, you will actually lose power.

3GS already has a ram air style intake, putting anything else in is basically just for dressing it up I think.

best to have a performance shop make you one. You will have to cut a hole were the current air box is located to allow it to pass into the fender well. F-Sport is going to be more for looks.

Why not slap a Supercharger on it

Agree about not messing wiht it. Not sure about the sound, I love a good engine sound, but why jack up a engineered heavy sedan? Let reliability do its thing.

I have been running an Injen cold air intake from a 03/04 GS430 on my 2006 GS430 for a year now. Great growl, what it should sound like stock for the V8 and decent gains. Install is quick and simple, took me half hour and everything bolted back no problem

On NA cars like ours? No chance! You will most probably lose power!

Just get a replacement filter and you should be happy! If sound is what you're after, then I agree, cone filters tend to give you a nice scream at WOT.
