Is my exhaust supossed to do this?
I just got my HKS Hi-Power Exhaust system installed on my 06 GS 300.
As i was driving home, i notice a very good sound until 3000 rpm, then when it goes higher the sound just dies away and i only hear my engine... Also when i hit redline on my revs, the exhaust makes a choppy noise, like CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP really fast. LAstly, as i parked in my garage tonight i noticed a very foul smell coming from my exhausts. Is this normal, do i just have to let the exhaust settle in or break in with time to it's new environment?

god thats annoying! i paid $800 for this exhaust and i cant even hear it at 3-4K RPM. Whats the point of making exhaust for this car if it drowns out? so what am i supossed to do? take out my cats? take out the resonators? get a new midpipe/ other parts? new intake? The system was correctly installed, it was just a bolt-on i dont see why it's doing this or making the smell..

I'm trying to achieve the g35's stock system. If I replace the mid pipes (deleting the resonators) will that do it? I don't want anything loud. Just trying to get that little rumble like the g35's.
