I just picked up an 06 GS300 without navi or ML and am interested in watching music videos and listening to albums from my iPod. Which model can utilize complete on screen control?
i have the video ipod to navi unit make sure you get the right cable...i just got a iphone4 and it doesnt work with my current cable i contacted VAIS and they wanted 60 bucks for a cable
sl2vi is a traditional option for you that's available now
or you can wait for sl2ic, if you use itouch or iphone with ios4
can I scroll through my music video list on my iPod classic on the vehicle's display screen with the sl2vi?
so the only benefit for me in waiting for the sl2ic is the support for ios4 devices?

I thought from looking at the Vtech forums was that SL2ic isn't going to be supported on the non-nav units for some reason. They list not compatible if you don't have DVD.

?? which vaistech model you got? i am surprised. i have done sl2i-up and sl2vi, both work fine with iphone4

no, anything on ipod video you have to do it from your ipod. screen control is only for audio
sl2ic supports ios4, and it's ONLY for device with ios4. otherwise it won't play

You must have an old kit. Vais updated the cable that comes with the kit shortly after the iPhone 3G came out which was the first one where they changed the voltage.
The kit with the old cable is SL2i, and the kit with the new cable is SL2i-UP

confirmed with vaistech, sl2ic is compatible with cars with and without factory ML / dvd changers

The SL2iC is available for the Mark Levinson system. The ML+ (which stands for Medialinq Plus) is not yet launched.
You only have to wait if you want the more expensive ML+ system which does digital video and has a USB input, as opposed to the analog video ipod only SL2iC.
Hey regarding the same question.. I have 06 gs without nav and dvd so which one would i need? I want to know if i can watch video and hook up gaming system with no extra cost?
