take it back. the engine should NOT be loud. and the car should NOT shake. ticking of the engine is normal but not loud engine noise. and shaking? my car does not shake at all. the steering thing is also wrong. my car does go back when i release it. just a bit slower than my previous car.

When you go in for service demand to see the service records on the car so far.

I was about to ask that actually, the valve-train is pretty damn noisy in this car (on the outside). Sounds like a buncha lifter clacking, its even louder in the mornings. In fact in the mornings something sounds like maybe a loose chain or lifters clattering around until it fully warms up. I was told this is normal but this doesn't seem very Lexus like.

If it's CPO, shouldn't the car went thru the 161 points inspection? In any case, it's cover for the next 3 years.

Don't take the car to the Bay Ridge Lexus dealership, that place is a joke. A lot of people complain about the service they provide. That goes for Lexus and Toyota.

I actually checked into the ALE Valve Spring recall and it turns out, my car had the part replaced mid-October this year. I read an article that says,

"If symptoms are noticed, such as vibration, rough idling, unusual engine sounds or poor performance, the vehicle should be brought to a Lexus dealer for service."

Those are exactly the symptoms I have noticed.
Is it possible that the replacement work has not been done properly? Did anyone have that replaced and still have the same symptoms?
I'm not going to point any fingers at any specific dealer but Ive heard that some dealers don't even perform any work if the car ran fine, they just submit recall claim to Lexus to collect their parts and labor $$ from Lexus Warranty and set you on your way. Basically in short, all they did is hang on to your car for a few days, and the service writer and the technicians got paid all the hours to do nothing, yea it sounds crooked, but it happens more then you think. Not saying that's what happened to you but it happens.

My GS300 AWD definitely shakes every now and then when I am stopped.
I usually hope it goes away and it usually does, but it definitely makes me nervous.

This thread reminds me that I should have them look at this issue before the 70K mile engine/drive train warranty expires.
