Default Water spots! Lame!

I was at a buddy's house in the 'burbs, and parked my car in his driveway...well he has a full on automated sprinkler system which got the side of my car. I was there all day and the hot south TX sun dried it off, leaving some nice little water marks that I discovered this morning. To top it off - I'm driving obsidian

Anyways - took it for a wash this morning, to no prevail. I did some research, and read about people successfully using vinegar. Wanted to touch base with the "experts" before making any moves

on my dark car I wash with gold wash with a sponge and then another rougher sponge over it again and dry it off with an absorber. Seems to do the trick. if not try clay+wax.

Next time use a sealant on your paint (like Duragloss or Klasse), it'll prevent hard water etching.

A clay bar likely remove them.

Shampoo wash -> clay bar -> wash -> wax or polish or sealent = clean and shiny

The above suggestion is for people with tons of free time on their hands. The easier way is to get either Scratch X or Sonus SFX Scratch Removal. Apply after you wash the car.

Default Water Spots

Had a similar problem on Deep Sea Mica. I used 3M Finesse It II. Use a microfiber and do by hand. I applied in a straight line, not a circular motion. Test a small area using light pressure and then adjust up the pressure a little more, if need be. Using a machine might cut too much into your clear coat if you are not a professional. I buffed out and applied a sealer made by Meguiar's that I use on my other vehicle with good results. I have used Finesse It for years on other vehicle for blemishes and other problems. If applied correctly it will get the job done without doing any damage. I first got it from a friend who owns a body shop. Good Luck!.

is it necessary to re-wash after claying? if you're using detailing spray as the lube, can't you just wipe that down with a towel and be fine? seems like washing the car again in the sun just starts the process all over again.
