Default How many times a year do you guys get your tires balanced?

I live in southeast michigan, and the roads are so-so and I find myself having to balance my tires every 4 months or so to get ride of the small vibration in the steering wheel due to potholes, or other road bumps. The balancing does the trick but this is frequent then usual. I have Michelin Primacy MXV4 and they are fantastic tires.

I live in Dallas,TX and i balance mine every 3 to 4 months also. I believe on the GS, alignment and balance is an occurring problem on them. I own 4 GS and every one of them would need balance or tire rotation more often than other cars.

I cannot agree with you more! My Audi A8l has 19 inch low profile rims and I have only balanced it once in 1-2 years so far and my Ml350 never needed balancing until about every 30k miles when it needs new tires. My Gs however is strange, it needs it every 4-5 months but it used to be every 6-8 months, but still frequent. Also, alignment needs to be refined every year too.

Every other car I've only balanced tires when they are new and first mounted. Other than that, I've never felt the need. Didn't expect otherwise with this car.

Alignment I don't do anything about unless something feels off, or every couple of years just for good measure.

I have Michelins right now. They are far superior than continentals and other tires. WE just have some bad roads here in Michigan and I have 18 inch rims.

I used to use Michelin tires on my Prelude back in the day in college when the wheels where only 15". I am back in love with them. A set of Michelins went for $400 more than the Falkens I used to use. I feel like that is a small price to pay for zero trips to the tire shop for rebalances, very very little road noise, and far superior durability.

I am still blown away at the fact that Michelin PS A/S plus comes in a 245/30/20 and has a tread wear rating of 500 is nuts

it takes about same amount of time for them to check the tire pressure on my tires, so might as well let them balance it... So once a month for me!!!

I rotate my tires about every 10K miles, and get balancing done at the same time. Because the vibration is not felt as much on the back wheels vs. front, when wheels are moved around, you may feel the vibration immediately after leaving the shop - seen this many times.
