Default GS350 vs IS350 engine differences?

Are the engines for the GS350 and IS350 identical? 2GR-FSE is the engine number for both cars. Is that correct? I'm trying to find compatibility for engine parts/internals.

Wow, what is the weight difference between the two? Are they geared the same to generate the same torque and HP output?

GS350's engine produces 303 HP but I had thought IS 350 is like 335hp? can someone verify?

Edmunds.com says 306hp on the IS. The difference could be how the intake and exhaust is designed in each car. The GS could by shy a few ponies in comparison due to an exhaust that yields a quieter sound or something.

The GS 350 reaches top HP at 6200 RPM vs 6400 RPM for the IS 350.

the gs350 is 303 hp and the is350 is 306 because of the flux capacitor connected to the intake side check under your spare tire you will find a flux capacitor under there...i never looked but if any of you do please take a pic and post

Are they calibrated differently at all? If you test drive both back to back, the IS350 moves out with urgency. Even taking the added weight into effect, I was surprised at how much less responsive the GS350 feels.

I haven't driven a IS in a few years - right after that model came out. But I'm damn impressed with the GS. It's easily as fast as the Infiniti M45 I had a couple of years ago, and a lot faster than the CTS I just got rid of.

Be sure you are running premium gas and have the ECT switch in the performance mode.

GS350-----303hp

IS350-----306 hp

335 hp for an IS350?????? This what they will need to do to take the HP crown from Infiniti.

Yes they are identical. The 3 hp difference between the GS and IS is negligible. The physical difference is that the GS' upper airbox piece is shaped a little differently than the IS' for clearance. Otherwise, the lower portion of both airboxes are identical.
