Headlights aimed too low
Is anyone else having an issue with their low beam headlights being too low? I've taken it in to the dealer to have them adjust them upward, and it's still too low. I've called into Lexus customer support and they documented it, but think it's part of the vehicle design. I told them whenever I have a '09 or '10 loaner car I can see perfectly at night. I hit potholes all the time b/c of it. It's a safety issue...they should probably issue a TSB about it with a fix - new optics or something.
i have a 07 gs450h |
I reckon that your dealership did not want to raise them for you. There are DIY corrections you can make with these little screw things near the headlight. My GS certainly doesn't suffer from this issue and I doubt all the other GS posters on this site would put up with it.
Look in your manual and it will tell you how to aim them up. |
check your auto leveling sensor?
my dealer raised mine after my right side went up by itself, and they adjusted it to the went that went up :T |
I noticed this on all (newer)Lexus cars. Our es330 and ls430 all had low low beams. You should be able to adjust them with a screw driver. I can see so much better now. I understand they don't want to blind on coming traffic but these headlights were pointing directly downward which makes it dangerous for drivers.

Mine were too low. I adjusted them, they are perfect now.

damn i suck when it comes to following instruction. i went under the hood last night and I could not for the life of me find the hole where the screwdriver should go :(. |
it s not obvious. after you remove the shields, there is a guide hole up the side near where the back of the lights would be. You need a very long phillips screwdriver to reach the adjuster cog. I couldn't see the cog way down there (which meant it was the right place) until i went out at night and used a flashlight to shine in all the crevices.

instructions should be in the manual.

here is the link just in case.. instruction in the manual is useless.

My car was the same way when I bought it brand new in 2007 but I took it to the dealership and they took care of it for me. They told me they don't usually adjust that stuff but I showed him that there are even directions on how to do it in the owners manual and they took care of it. It was a little trial and error. I think it took 2 adjustments to get it right. There is a solution . Don't let them tell you that they cant do it. THATS BS. Let the dealership do it. Thats what they are there for

no need for the dealer to do it. its not rocket science. get a screw driver, remove the covers and adjust.. simple as that
|
yea but its so friggin confusing. I followed the instruction here - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-t...correct-2.html and even bought a 10" screwdriver and got nowhere. I even found both A and B screws, turned them both and nothing happened. I even tried with headlights on. Anyway, the car is at dealership as we speak for lexus to adjust for me..
