Default Help: Vibration/Pulsing Feel After Install of New Michelins

It has been approx 3 weeks since I replaced the OEM Dunlop run flats with Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus tires (NTB). When at 65 mph I felt bouncing/vibration sensation in what I believe was the left front tire. Took it last week to NTB to be rebalanced. Afterwards, the bouncing sensation had subsided some, but I could still feel the pulsing sensation in the steering wheel, so I took it back in today & asked for all 4 tires/wheels to be rebalanced. On my way home, I got up to 80 mph & I can still sense a slight pulsing sensation in the steering wheel, just a bit off. Now I did not have this sensation with the rough riding runflats & thus far, NTB has not said one of more of my wheels are bent, which is what I feared was the issue. A customer in the NTB waiting room suggested I get "hub rings", if the problem persist.

Is he on point? Is this a good solution, because if the wheels are not bent, I don't know what's causing the out of balance, pulsing sensation in the steering wheel at 65/70 + mph? Who sells them at a reasonable cost?

you have aftermarket wheels? if you have oem wheels, then you absolutely do NOT need hub rings

We have the same model GS, and swapped out the run flats a couple months ago, stock 17" rims though. The Michelins have been superb, and have not experienced any of the vibration or bounce. Possibly you have one defective tire, where the cords are missaligned. Happens sometimes.

I have the michelin pilot sport AS plus on my car and feel a very slight buzz in the wheel( not like a balancing issue) . It only happen if I am above 80-90 mph. I am pretty sure it has to do with the sipes on the tire that aid in snow driving. I am amazed by these tires to the point that I would never return them let alone to switch to a different brand over it. If it bothers you take the tires back to have them rebalanced to make sure its nothing obvious. If it persists just exchange the tire for something else.

Could be an out-of-round tire too. Had that happen once, and it drove the tire place nuts until they found and replaced it.

Or maybe a re-index of the tire on the wheel would help. See if they can do a road force variation balance on the tires. That would uncover what the problem is, if it's related to the tires.

I had the Pilot Sport A/S 2 years ago and they gave me vibration all the time on the highways with harmonic vibration (pulses). So annoying and could not get them to stop even after road force balancing them. 2 Lexus dealership stated that these michelins have agressive tire patterns and are not suitable for certain roads and give more road feel. They where right. I hated those Michelins and got the better Primacy MXV4 tires.
