Default A/C Filter change or replace?

Hello,
My GS just hit 32k miles. I did all of the 30k service myself. I did not replace a/c filter. I pulled it out and cleaned it with an air compressor. I still get a slight smell when i use the a/c, but nothing horrible. How long can you go on the original a/c filter?
Any links on where to buy them?

it usually depends on how dirty it is i guess. but at 30k i think it's a good time to get a new one anyway

The cabin air filter is relatively cheap, I would replace it when it's dirty.

I got mine at AutoZone (engine air filter too). The total cost for both was less than the cabin filter alone at Lexus.

Don't even bother cleaning that filter - a new one is cheap enough to just replace once a year. I was at Wal-mart last night and even they sold them. They sold the Fram brand which I don't care for when it comes to oil filters, but for an air filter they're fine.

They just came out with this one that has Arm & Hammer baking soda to help reduce odors:

It was priced a little higher than the regular one I got last time around ($28 for my wife's Highlander) but that's the only one they carried.

Default Air Filter

I just bought a couple of these from Amazon for my RX

Fram Fresh Breeze CF10157

Not sure what the number is for a GS.

14.00 each. Buy 2 and you get free shipping.

For the 2006 GS300, it's a Fram Fresh Breeze CF10285

Also, there's currently a $5 Fram rebate available, here: http://www.fram.com/rebate/pdf/FiveDollarRebate.pdf

I may try one of these. Also noted that amazon has the Denso 143-2091 air filter for about $16 also for the GS300.

ac filter? open glove box, take out tray, open up trap door at the back

make sure car is in CIR mode, that will open up the filter door, change the filter
