Default Recommended Tire Pressure

I have stock 18's and according to the door jam, i should be running 33PSI. However, when i went to get my tire pressure checked at discount tire, they recommended 32 PSI which I am currently running. I know that running at a higher PSI means you save gas, but what happens to traction and side wall. My stock rims are wrapped with Yoko W4S. Any recommendations or advice regarding this matter is appreciated.

yea 1psi difference won't really do anything. I'd stay with 33psi but it's really up to you. If you want more grip and don't worry about tread life go lower psi or if you wanna keep your tires for longer and don't care about traction that much go a little higher than a recommended psi. Just don't go over tire manufacturer's recommended max. psi but that's usually really high (around 50psi cold) so you don't have to worry about it.

Interestingly, my dealer insists that they inflate the same stock 18s that I have, to 44psi, so that I get better mileage & tire wear. Yeah, I told him to put 33psi and stop worrying about my mpg.
Bunch of discussion about this topic on the forum and my consensus is that dealers outright ignore the Lexus recommended psi - maybe its because they get a lot more TPMS complaints with lower psi? donno.

In the manual it gives you more recommendations. Don't remember the page #, but it is more toward the end.

You adjust PSI based on speeds you are driving. I have also the 18" and keep 38 psi. The manual will tell you why.
