Hey guys. Can some1 explain to me how to adjust the height while the coils are on the car? Me and my friend didn't see how we could spin the lower shaft while its installed. Am I missing something here?

Lower the spring perch and then the body should be able to adjust. Also, keep in mind that since our cars have sway bars that both sides need to be even when adjusting the shock body itself while everything is bolted in.
I have had the shop take the wheels off, adjust all four corners, remount the wheels , drop the car, pull it out of the service area and to the front of the shop in less than 45 minutes. Its pretty simple and generally all of the systems are exactly the same
DO NOT MESS WITH THE SPRING PERCH!!! That was set by JIC when they shipped them out to provide the optimal spring rate... cool thing about jic's, you can adjust height without adjusting the spring rate... you can lower the entire spindle into the canister... loosen the llowest sprocket on the strut and once that is done, start turning the double sprojects clockwise to lower the entire setup.... mattbeezy should know about this.. he has my jic's now..

It's not that serious. If it was ment to be then they would have made the spring stationary and not adjustable. The reason why they made it like so is because some people prefer a softer ride, which means no load. Others want preload which would mean the spring perch would have to be spun up to add preload.

agree, it's just a choice by the owner
of course if lowering the car without stiffening up the spring rate isn't a smart idea coz' the extra suspension travel can cause more rubbing. saw quite a few issues with the tein flex on 2gs
actually, thats what causes the knocking noise of the suspension that i had on my first set of jic's... Just wanted to give caution because if he liked the ride before, then he shouldnt touch it.

Yeah I actually talked to a guy from JIC because when I first put the JIC coilovers on and I started to adjust the spring perch on top instead of the bottom. Preloading and loosening the coil to have no load is the reason of why people get there JIC's rebuilt so often. He also told me that if I wanted to return the top spring perch to default its 2 turns from loose.
again it is all in preference.. But if I spent 2400 dollars on JIC coilovers I would just keep it on the default setting. Luckly I got it used thanks beez43!
thanks alot guys! i didnt realize the damper would spin on its own. for some reason i thought it was attatched to the top hat not letting it spin. now just need to give it more camber in the rear so i dont rub lol
