Default Are these conditions normal???

Hello all; I am having some minor issue with my 460.
1) There is this cracking sound from the brakes when applied after extreme speed driving, ie (200km+).
2) Car starts vibrating also after brakes are applied after high speed driving
3) There is this burning smell from the car after I exit it after harsh driving, which I think are from the brakes. My friends 430 does not have this smell at all since we where having a nice adventure in the highway :P
P.S - All those happened today after one session of rare harsh driving

Appreciate any feedback.

Sounds like you're warping your rotors pretty good.

Please, am looking for a serious answer. Did anyone experience this burning smell from his brakes?

Rider, you have had this thing for like a few months and are driving it like some formula one race car (based on your other posts)....Sell it and get an M5 or GTR or something more suitable for extreme driving habits...drive the damn thing like a Lexus

Sure, u just mail me the $150k and ill be extremely glad to purchase one of those

The way I drive my car is by business, and, I didnt say I drive it like a F1 car, so dont make assumptions please. AND, if a $60k luxury sport sedan cant withstand a pedal floor from time to time then IT IS A PHAAAIL.

Sincerly, Rider

Brakes on any stock street car are not meant to continuously stop your car from 200 km/h. My response about warping the rotors was serious, as that's probably what you're doing.

The heat generated from stopping a car from 200km/h is intense. If you don't allow enough time for them to cool again between brake applications you'll get brake fade and the rotors will warp. The burning smell is probably the fact that you're scorching the pads. Remember most people going from point A to point B never get to 200km/h, and when they are going anywhere near that fast they are usually not braking very often (for example, coasting on the freeway without any traffic to dodge).

But hey, as long as you're having fun.

Is this a joke post? Do you even own the car, or are you abusing your father's ride or something? I can't see somebody who spent their own hard earned money treating a car like this in a way that would have the brakes begging for mercy.

Did this happen during one of your 200 km/h joy rides. Cut someone off, then have to hit the brakes because you ran out of room? =)

Questions:-

1) I noticed that in the S Mode; the car shifts by itself near red-line?? IS that better? Or me shifting is better? IS there a way for me to shift instead of the car?

2)There are 2 Traction modes; TRC OFF and the one where a yellow car pops up; Whats the difference and which to use when in a race?

3) My car is almost in burnout mode until the end of the first gear when I attempt a full throttle start ; Is that normal? I thought there would be more GRIP.

4)Best way of launching the car? Brake-torquing with 2000 rpm's?.
And you dont race your car that hard??

Tried against a G35 Sedan (hks cats) and I was infront by almost 1.5 car lengths by the end of the 800m run..

Wow, i guess since you own a 300, you cant have fun l0l. And I understand that you never had a full throttle from a stop? And I actually had only 3 races with my car so I dont think I race my car hard...
And i bet every V8er here should have atleast reached the speed of 200km or more. And, even if I reach that speed, I never make a panic stop. I just touch the brakes since the road is pretttyy long. So i dont understand how I am warping the rotors... ANDD regarding my accident.. NO, I was in a petrol station PARKED and got rear ended..

Finally, I dont understand this.. is this an interrogation forum or is it actually meant to be a social one, and Eyekutr, if you dont like my posts.. please dont reply..

I have a SC430, my top speed has been 90mph with no panic stops. I bought a Lexus ,the way you drive your car is your business, but you really need an AMG or BWM M series to fulfill your driving passion. Good luck

There is a reason you're getting picked on and it doesn't really have anything to do with your driving any more.

Please, leave your intellectual comment to yourself. People here seem to not know how to mind their own business ffs...
