Can you put an additional subwoofer on the stock ML sound system
Is it possible to use the ML amp or ML factory audio unit to add a subwoofer of your own? Has anyone done it or is it not possible?

does anyone know the specs on the stock amp and sub with ML?

You can add a sub as described above- however the bass will be attenuated by the ML amp because of the DSP circuit in the amp. To do this successfully you need a signal summing device before the amp running an aftermarket amp instead of the ML. I am in the middle of figuring this out....I have heard that there will be no volume control on the Head Unit because it is linked to the ML amp with the DSP circuit. I will post back after I figure this out. This may take a while- so stay tuned...
If anyone has done this successfully - please post the details! |
I added subs to my 7 series by connecting a stinger line output converter to the stock subs. Just go to stingers website and look up line output converters. Hook that up to your subwoofer in the rear deck and you have the input for your aftermarket amp for extra subs.

What about speakers?
