Winter setup for my GS450h
I just got a 2008 Lexus GS450h. I wonder what kind of winter package I can get? My stock is 18", I heard I may be go down to 17" for winter use?
I searched around and still couldn't get the exact answer, hope someone here can help me. I searched TireRack, somehow they don't have 08 450h there. For their 2007 450h, the site say 18" is the minimum to go, for 2009 450h, the site say 17" is ok to be used for winter... I really like to know as smaller size is cheaper than 18" by quite a margin, and I heard it's better for traction as well.
Thank you!

You have to make sure that the overall circumference of the tire is the same, if you go down to 17" wheels. There are plenty of tire size calculators on the Web that would let you determine the appropriate 17" sizes.
The best winter tires around are Michellin Alpine and X Ice.

Thanks for all the quick reply.
anyone know the brake caliper size of my GS450h and the IS350 rwd? My cousin has a set of 17" alloy that fit his IS350 and he can sell me for cheap if they fit, but he's out of the country and wont' be back for at least 2 weeks....

I found this online:
my GS450h front brake disc is 334mm ventilated, and IS350 is exactly the same. Both car has 4-piston brake caliper.... I'm *hoping* that both cars have same size of braking setup and the wheel that fit my cousin's car should fit mine as well?
any more info is appreciated
