Can someone please explain the benefit of a mid-pipe setup? Does it replace the Cats so it won't pass smog in Cali, or is it just a different configuration WITH cats?

It keeps the primary cats but I believe it gets rid of the secondary one. It'll be able to pass smog in Cali I'm sure.

So assuming it can pass smog, is there a power gain? How do we avoid the CEL situations common in cat-based modifications? Will it use the factory O2 sensors, etc???

Hello Lee,
The mid-pipes start after the primary cats. Regarding CEL issues, the mid-pipes have the O2 sensor slots and you will be able to still bolt on your factory O2 sensors. Thanks
It looks good, but where the exhaust pipe from the passenger side exhaust bank meets up to make it single exhaust looks too much like a T rather than a Y. This would definately make for more turbulence in exhaust gases where the 2 pipes meet. Are you going to revise this as well to make it to where it will flow better, more Y shaped rather than T.
