Default GS350 Trunk open/close mechanism stopped working

Hi and thanks for reading.

I own a 2009 GS 350 and love it. However, yesterday suddenly the trunk open/close won´t work. The dash board indicator shows trunk is open and the tiny car with all doors open light stays on (even when car is off and trunk was closed manually). Neither the key nor the inside button will open the trunk. I have to use the hard key to open it. To close it it has to be thorugh hard push, not the gentle aproaching to let the mechanism close it for me, that doesn´t work either.

If you have experienced this or know how to fix it, I would certainly appreciate your input.

Thanks!

I do, but not near a lexus dealership at the moment. I am wondering if a Toyota dealership could fix it... or trying to get ideas here.

Thanks

A Toyota dealership can probably look at it for you but would charge you. They don't do Lexus warranty work.

I suspect it being a trunk switch.

you have a faulty motor ...it will probably need to be replaced at Lexus. There was an issue with 06s with some motor weakness and was later updated. You just got a faulty motor I think

Its either the sensor or the motor. You'll need to wait once you're close by lexus to bring it in for service.
