Wow, I like the new tail lights. Very subtle change but noticable.

The current model went on sale on February 2005 as 2006 model. In 2011 its going to be on the road for 7 years. Plus, it is not selling too well. Dont see why would they keep it any longer. So, most likely we'll see a 4GS in 2011 as 2012 model.

Good god, the new 450h grille is an eyesore. I had to do a double-take; thought I was looking at an ES.

2011 = 6 years. count it.

they'll drag it out because of poor sales just like the SC.

the 4GS will sell just as poorly. the GS is just not as desirable compared to competitors.

dj aren't you going out on a limb saying that about the 4GS? what do we know about the 4GS? i'm sure it's just a bit of the dj sarcasm thrown in there about the 4GS. i would like to think that lex would be somewhat competitive if and when the 4GS releases.

I got 7 05 -> 06 -> 07 -> 08 -> 09 -> 10 -> 11

Well, the car came out in Feb 05, that's almost in the begining of the year. So, I had to count 2005 as a full year.

You are absolutely right. In rest of the world you can find 2005 3GS.

Its the standard redesign BS. Lots of stuff that makes no difference at all. They do it because they think it will maintain interest....eehhh

The hybrid grill on the GS 450h doesn't look too bad. It appears to be chrome. Much better than the hybrid grill on the HS 250h or the LS 600hL. I don't look forward to the RX hybrid grill...

again, they're gonna set their sales goals low.

that's just a fact. the GS doesnt have the selling power the E and 5 do.

in this car class, lexus has never sold a lot.

going by history, it's most likely not going to change for the 4GS.

I like these updates. The subtle rings in the tail lights is a nice touch. Adds a nice 3 dimensional look to it. I have no complaints about the new 450h wheels. I always liked the chrome/silver look. The grill is not pleasant. However its country miles better looking than the HS and LS grills. IMO the grill was already messed up. Its the ugly chrome bezel that is disgusting, not the horizontal slats.

Overall its a nice update. Interesting to see a second update of the same model. I dont think Lexus has ever done that before. I know Mercedes has done that with the SL-class the last few generations.

Maybe something to expect for the IS and LS?

what are typical yearly sales numbers for this class of vehicle? GS, E, 5-series, A6, etc... Is the GS always last?
