My 08 (non-ML) has aux input but no USB, at least none that I can see. I may have to go looking around again, but I'm 99% sure it doesn't have it.
Aux input is good enough for me. I cannot charge or control the ipod from the nav screen, but I don't listen to my ipod much in the car.

This lack of e compatibility is really inexcusable. From my past from working in the auto industry, I remember that it takes about 7 years to get a change through a design and into production.
With small changes, it can actually be shorter...and adding an aux port would (IMO) be considered a nominal addition.
So with this in mind, I matched the generation of the Ipod to illustrate that Lexus is asleep at the wheel (pun intended).
Apple Release...
2001: 1st Gen Ipod
2002: 2nd Gen
2003: 3rd Gen
2004: 4th Gen
2005: 5th Gen (65% share of all portable players, est 19 Million units globally)
2007: 6th Gen Ipod, 1st Gen Touch
2008: 2nd Gen Touch...etc etc.
Lexus GS Release...
06-07 nothing (stupid)
08-09 aux input (silly)
10+ usb (not too bad after firmware update)
Maybe they spent all of their time refining the fit between the dash and windshield (yes that's a joke).
Ford partnered with Microsoft to develop the Sync interface. What gives? Hard to take that a Ford Escort or Fiesta is better equipped than a GS350?
Oh and BTW, i think the nav screen interface on the 2010 looks crappy...the Commodore 64 had a nicer start screen.
And I wont start on the time it took to purge the cassette player.
The electronics team there at Toyota needs an enema (end of rant).

Difference between Apple products and Lexus is that Apple blows their competitors away when they nail it...and they never seem to sit on their rears...always staying front keeping competitors guessing.
Lexus is in a field with many other worthy opponents. Lexus doesnt seem to want to do the things that keep it competitive, let alone set it apart.

that's why the denial on ipod for a long time, and then they put in an aux input. this is despite the fact that apple continued to dominate the industry. finally, 2010 they gave in and put in ipod integration.
so yes, on the whole ipod thing? lexus is so behind it's not funny
