I was looking through the MyLexus website and found this. Anyone have info on the Gen6 Navi and Lexus Enform? I'm gonna do some Googling to see what I can find.

 

I wanna say that all the gen 6 navs will be powered by a hard drive and no long be using discs. Any nav updates will have to be uploaded by a dealer via scantool vs putting in a new disc.

 

yea.. most likely HDD based navi...

Is there any pictures of how the screen looks? Is it pretty much the same layout and quality as the gen5?

go look at a brand new 2010 rx350. They're equipped with gen6 nav. I wanna say that they're getting rid of the touchscreen and all going with the joystick nav.

so that means when we see all the other 2010 cars the center console would be modified with the joystick setup?? sure?

 

no i seriously doubt it.. i think they'll just change the dvd based to HDD based and probably more POI that's all

4GS will get the joystick..

that's like more likely to happen than a whole new interior redesign for the last year of 3GS

 

that's what i think too. making all those changes would be tons of work on the car. might as well just stay with gen6 core and keep the touch screen until cars change to next generation

personally i am not a fan of enform neither. don't think it will be useful to me

 

gen6 seems to be coming pretty quickly... here is RX navi pix. I wish Gen6 would offer bird's view.
A/C vents in the RX reminds me of Prius (not good at all).

by the time you finish playing with the joystick to input the address, i'll be long gone with the touchscreen input

 

also you'll have a smudgier screen...

 

I wonder what it will be like to use the joysticks
