HELP!!! GS430 Changed Brakes "CHECK VSC" + "CHECK ECB"

I need help!! I have an 06 GS430 and changed my brake pads today. I followed procedure and even opened up the reservoir cap while doing this.

I finish.. start the car up.. and i get "check vsc" and "check ecb"... my brakes light and abs light is on..

any ideas guys??

UPDATE

so i just realize this could be a part of my issue.. when i did the the brakes i forgot to take off my parking brake.. i then kind of force the front caliper out a little bit and then compressed the piston!

that should explain why my parking brake light is on and ABS.

My parking brake doesnt even work when i press it all the way down now. Is there a way I can reset this?

Have you driven the car at all? What is the ecb code for anyway?

Can you pull the codes? I can tell you what it is if you can get me the codes•

I have not pulled the codes yet. I will see if I can even pull any codes.. I have driven the car about 10 miles.. i even pulled the battery for about 30 minutes and it is still on.

from a quick GOOGLE... i believe you need to bleed ur brakes? i could be wrong lol.... for the VSC...isn't that traction control?

VIPNiSS 07-08-09 10:07 AM

soo.. does anyone know if air in my brakes would cause this?

Currently the traction control light is on, ABS, and Brakes light..

The brake peddle is really STIFF and not soft like it used to be.

air in the lines should give a soft pedal, not a stiff one.....

Hrmmmmmm. Yeah the pedal is stiff and brakes don't want to engage almost. You have to use more effort on the pedal

I would check your speed sensor.. It happened to me before when i had my 2002 GS.. I installed my coilovers and changed my brake pads. Damaging the speed sensor wire will cause the VFC, and Traction control light to come on. I had to replace the speed sensor wire. $250 plus

The brakes are stiff because there is no electronic assist AFTER you completed your brake job...ECB stands for Electronic Controlled Brake System, DOUBLE check the brakes, make sure all connections are properly connected-this includes the sensors.

Check the basics first before going further to more complex possibilities

Crap!!!!! Don't tell me that. Anyone know where the speed sensor is located?

Also is it bad to drive the car like that for a couple of days?

your speed sensor is behind the rotor towards the front side (front side meaning towards the bumper)

I broke down and made appointment with Lexus at 12:30 today. Going to have hem look at the ac odor as well and other things that been bothering me. I got extended warranty so hopefully they will fix my f up. I just have to pay $100 deductible.

VIPNiSS 07-09-09 12:43 PM

Ok boys. She's at the dealership an I got a loaner es350. Boooooo. They are changing my steering rack under tsb. Also something with the rear caliper under tsb. Having them look at the AC odor as well. Also the auto headlights not shutting off automatically sometimes.
