Default tyre sensor

Hi,

I have a nail stuck in my tyre I was hoping just to take it to a local autoshop and get it repaired however I was wondering if the tyre sensors would cause any issues. Id rather not take it to lexus as its bit of a distance away from my hassle. But from a quick look at the hand book (UK version) it looks like they wat me to take it to an approved garage.

So I guess my question is does anything need to be done to the sensors on a puncture repair?

thank you

I'm pretty the TPMS won't have anything to deal with patching up a hole in a tire. I would just go patch it up if I was you. There shouldn't be anything to worry about but lets wait for a few responses to make sure.

You'll be fine, most tire shops know how to deal with them

Did you pass the tire warranty mileage? If not, its free at Lexus...check the road hazard warranty sections of that additional warranty book. If it is far, call the hotline and they will send someone to repair it or tow your car to the nearest Lexus dealer to do so.
I got a brand new tire when mine was punctured, so its worth the hassle if you don't mind waiting a bit more.

Make sure the tire shop know how to work with the tire sensors, mention to them that they cost about $200 each to replace.
