Default Excess Road Noise

Since I lowered my GS on NF210's, I noticed the road noise is much much louder than when the car was at stock height on my 20's. (245/35/20). I can hear it in the car even with the radio on at 10. Would this have anything to do with me not getting an alignment done yet or is that apples vs oranges? I know the alignment will prevent tire wear from happening faster. Or do I just have to buy a softer tire. The ones I have now are Falken Z-Rated Tires.

Sorry guys, the car is AWD and the tires have about 9,000 miles on them. I take them off in the winter and put the stocks back on.

Does anyone else have really loud road noise on 20's with the car lowered. I went to pick up my brother today in Jersey City, I could hear the noise really loud on the turnpike, had to blast the music. Tires only have about 8 or 9K on them.

I just upgraded to 20" wheels and the noise is the same as my 18". I had the Michelin PS2 stock and ended up going with the Bridgestone Potenza RE960. I am not dropped yet but cannot imagine that the road noise will increase. It maybe your tires.

Maybe it is something else then, the car was really quiet with the 20's at stock height, now I have lowered it on NF210's and hear loud noises, almost like grinding, it could be the tires, 8000K on them, do you think it has something to do with the car being AWD and lowered. It rides really smooth, just the noise is crazy sometimes, especially with people in the car, its hard to have a conversation without listening to that. I had lowered cars before and never real heard road noise this bad if it is that.

When you drop you car, you car is lowered. With that stated, the tires will eat more ground so it will make more noise. Futhermore, each tire brand would have less noise than others because of their thread design. Hope that helps.
