22's? or Bad Idea?

Whats up guys I have been looking all over this forum and it seems that only one person I have seen on here has 22's. My question is are 22's that hard/bad to put on the lexus Gs? I have a 2006 Gs300 RWD I have been looking at 20's but they just look small.

All input is very appreiciated.

LOL............. You got 22's?

From what I have heard, it is not going to work. The diameter of wheel plus tire is going to be so out of spec. In rough calculations your car will be 3-4 inches higher on stack suspension. WOW, I thought 20 looked huge :eek2: It should work without tires though :D

Are you planning on lowering it? If so by how much? 22's personally to me sound unpractical, the largest size I would go would be a 20. The type of wheels may also affect the size visually. Some 19's can look smaller and vice versa.

20" is what I went with. I think 19" or 20" is ideal for the car but its all preference on what you want and what plans you have for the car. I kind of wish I had gone 19" now with the roads but I liked the "look" of 20" rims on this car with the size of it.

what other plans do you have with the rims? lower it on sprins, air, coils, ect.

Please look in the modification sticky, there are at least 5 or 6 GSs in there with 22s. They will fit and don't actually look bad on the 3GS. If its for a show car, fine. To actually drive on, say goodbye to your suspension over time. The car is not built for giant 40-45lbs at each corner wheels.

just get 20s and make sure lower the car..if u get 22s u r gonna have nothin but problems..trust me i had auto couture 22s and it was like nightmare driving the car far as rubbin...long as you do staggered and big lip in the rear u good money

^I agree, 20's with an aggressive offset will do just right

yep. theres a few rides with 22's on here. i must admit....they look pretty damn sweet but definitely impractical. and talk about cuttin' up your fenders.....is that what you really want to do??? cuz thats what is required.

too big for me.......IMO....20's or 21's are perfect...if you can afford 21's...

w/ a drop of course...

If you think 20's are to small, I would get 21's at the most. Won't eat up your fenders as bad and will looks great. Also you better not hit one pot hole with 22's. In my opinion 20's look the best on this car.

Im pretty sure these are 21's

Yep, 21" non-staggered.

whlkev Apr 30, 2009 03:46 PM

22 = fail for me.. on GS that is

06MiCa Apr 30, 2009 06:40 PM

I'm convinced that 20's are good enough. I want a very aggresive staggered setup. What do i need to look for as far as offset and everything like that I have no clue when it comes to rims. All I know is I'm buying them in about 3 or 4 days when I find what I like.

Also I hear Tanabe Springs are the closest to sotck ride quality is this correct?

Thanks
