G Man... exactly what I've been telling my wife. I can swallow any pride left in me and buy the minivan. it makes sense. 3 car seats are not going to work in the back of the GS so from there......... it's dollars and sense(cents).
Nice... Pimped out Minivans.... I never would've thought... it just seems wrong.
So it looks like something with a 3rd row will need to be in store and the wife has requested the 2nd row be Captains chairs... she "hates the fold down seat thinggy". And if we go Minivan, then I must drive it. Which means I could sell the GS, wait a few years and buy a performance car. (something the kids would never touch). HA!
I'm thinking Minivan. New Odyssey or Sienna or used SUV (Tahoe or Escalade). I looked at the Q7... nice, but out of the price range. Gots to be down below $30k.
i wouldn't use the term "pimped out"...i prefer the term vip style. lots of kits available for the ody, as you can see. who says you can't drive a minivan in style? you'll be the envy of all the soccer moms when you drop your kids off at practice...er, well you get the idea!

You nailed it right on the head with that word pride!!! you know it's about the kids right now...they're a blessing. get the windows tinted, have 1-2 dvd screens...you're set. bag the rims..save your flow. when the kids get older, that'll be when the GS-F releases...you get one of those and tell the kiddies to catch a ride with mom. done. (don't forget the babies spitting up, cracker crumbs all over the freaking place, fingerprints all over the windows, that one dried up baby bottle that fell under the seat and smells like stank...you don't want this in happening in your GS.)
Dude! might as well get a nice used suv/van your gonna end up ruing you new GS anyways think about it THREE seats thats a hella lotta creases in your new leather plus the mess from the kids , dont do the GS like that keep your car squash your pride and get a second used ride
just my opinion , i have a 16 mnth old i had to but wifey a second ride

so true! it's bad enough with 1 kid doing it; imagine 3 kids!!
Will do. Thanks Yang. I've never ever never ever looked at minivans. Honestly never thought I'd have to. Still love the GS. Got on it a little tonight. Still stock AWD and still awesome to drive. love it..
I'm in the same boat, have 2 kids with 1 on the way. Having a GS and RX, no way will either one fit 3 car seats, its tight with 2 Britax Marathons. We're looking a picking up a spare Sequoia/Land cruiser/LX470 to replace our beater/commuter Civic. The wife and I refuse the minivan idea...we'll hold off as long as possible.
Near as I can tell the only problem with a minivan is the reputation it's earned for being "soccer momish", I have a Caravan and it's by far one of the most useful, comfortable and practical vehicles I've ever had. I guess it is possible some stranger whose opinion I could give a rat's behind about might snicker at me as I drive by but who cares? Sure I prefer to drive my GS400 but I'll go Opus Dei on myself before I put car seats on my leather. The minivan is a workhorse, holds more than you can imagine and never complains about spills and dust and toys in cracks. The funny thing is it always used to be the guys who resisted the minivans, but in this thread it seems to be the wives who are against them. The real irony of that is, at least here in AZ, most of the women I see driving big SUV's can't handle them properly in the first place.
