2008 GS350 Windshield Replacement?
How much does this cost @ dealer?
Got a dang rock today
Or anyone has a good reliable location they could suggest in Orange County, California?
Like Irvine, Tustin, Alhambra, Montery Park, Rosemead, West Covina, etc.?

oem glass with rain sensor? probably around 1500. yup, very expensive
i think they should have aftermarket glass now with rain sensor too
how bad is the crack? i cracked mine, dime size, and i got it glued/repaired before it started to spread. it's not 100% invisible, but for 60 bucks i am ok

Problem is that some insurance companies will only replace the glass with after market. Most of them are not the quality of the OEM glass. Some now have the rain sensor, but I’m not convinced they have the same acoustic sound proofing of the OEM glass.

I don't believe I have rainsenor on mine. At least I didn't notice it turn on when I went through the carwash recently.
A few places qoute me $400 average to replace it and sait those are Lexus original and not off brand aftermarket?

Interesting. Called the dealer, the part is 1380 + 180 for labor = 1560. Ouch! From what I've gathered, the original parts come with UV Coating, Sound Coating etc.,
But dang $400 for aftermarket, 1600 for Lexus Brand...hahah

It is not the same. If you have a GS 2006 or newer, I wouldbe surprised if you do not have the sensor. Look in your manual.
i am surprised too, i thought most of them come with rain sensor. it didn't come on when you were in car wash doesn't mean anything, you have to turn ON the wiper control to auto in order for it to work
FWIW, my business partner had his windshield replaced on his 2008 LS460 (must have been the same stone as the event occurred in Newport Beach along the 405 freeway). He's covered by Mercury Insurance and the replacement was OEM with no deductible (for all other events he has a $1,000 deductible). Mercury has a windshield replacement program built into their auto policies. I hear the same is true for Liberty and neither count against you as a 'claim'.
were your wipers on auto? i know my gs300 has them
