Default Miles - KM

I was wonder ...

I Just bought a 06 GS300 from the USA and I Live in Canada.

I know there is km under the miles on the cluster but I wanted to know if the dealer could reflash the ecu or whatever so that the info/trip function on my stereo would come up in KM or even if the odm screen on the cluster could come up in km. please let me know

I know it is possible... but delearship wont do it. The only thing they can do it to replace whole cluster. Not worth the money.

There is a whole industry devoted to this in Russia. Here is the link to the Russian Club-Lexus thread where they discuss this very issue in Russian.

Oh, this is cool. Somebody who lives in Canada actually purchase a car from US. All the prices are decent in US from Canadians perspective even though the exchanging rate is not that good. How about all the process you do for your car? Would the local dealership carry over the warrenty from the US?

hell no those cheap jerk offs wont carry over the warrenty. All u have to do is have the title tot he car a clearence letter and then get it inspected when it crosses the border

Lexus honours all US warrenties in Canada unless it is branded salvage titled/stolen.
I am not sure where the KWC is getting his info from.
Its up to the dealer wether they want to provide a loaner .

I didn't expect you to ship your car to Russia to get it done. All I wanted to say was that it is doable, they re-program computer and it shows temperature in Celsius, mielage and MPG in KM. If they figured out how to do it, you would think there would be Canadians able to do it, since so many US car had entered Canada when our dollars were equal in value.

Good luck.

The dealer has nothing to do with it , just check with Lexus Canada as they provide the warrenty not the dealer .
Check the website for info , your not the first to bring up a car and more than a few have had warrenty service at dealers.
